HELEN BROUGH
Oil on aluminium and Glass light sculptures
British contemporary artist Helen Brough transformed the entrance of AAF Battersea fair in October 2024, with her large and vibrant installation, Dahlia Cuore.
The sculpture marked the 25th anniversary of AAF, and uses the Dahlia flower - a symbol of commitment and loyalty - as a tribute to the art fair's fantastic long-standing community of galleries and artists who have been integral to the fair’s success.
Helen's newest works include more series of layered acrylic sculptures and small glass light boxes. In addition to the large Dahlia Cuore, she has created some other, smaller layered acrylic works that can be hung suspended from the wall. The shadows are mesmerising, with movement created just from the air.
Helen is represented by Art Movement (@artmovementlondon) , who have been exhibiting at AAF in London and NY since it began in 1999.
Educated at Chelsea School of Art in London, with a BA and an MA in sculpture. Helen's awards include the Prix de Rome at the British school in Rome, and the Prince Charles travel scholarship. In America she has received funding from the Pollock/Krasner Foundation, the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts and Triangle Arts Association. Recent awards in the UK include a QEST (Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust), an Arts Council Grant and the Glass Sellers Bursary from Cockpit Arts.

Art Movement have exhibited Helen's work at art fairs since October 2023, including AAF Battersea Park,
