The sculpture is suspended in 3 dimensions,  inviting the viewer to walk around and experience from all different angles.  Every perspective offers something new.

Nature is Helen's main source of inspiration.  She particularly enjoys the contrast of simplicitiy and complexity.  And colour, layering and symmetry - much like you would find in a small simple flower.

Flowers have long represented profound human emotions, spanning from life’s beginnings and endings to love, conflict and joy.  The Dahlia flower specifically symbolises loyalty and commitment, commemorating the 25th anniversary of AAF.

The sculpture, intricately crafted from layers of vibrant acrylic, offers a multitude of views as you walk around it, seeing inside and through the complex and detailed construction of the sculpture.

The sculpture was designed with a series of diminishing layers to create a sense of perspective and a central focal point for viewers to look into the heart of the Dahlia.  The colour selection aims to establish a chromatic scale using complementary contrasts to enhance the perception of depth within the piece.

With Dahlia Cuore, Helen hopes the viewer leaves with a sense of joy, playfulness and hope.
